Good luck, rallying is serious stuff. Our drivers are bad enough when they know where they are going!!

hey guys,

Well Jo and I managed to get through the rally and finish. I was pleased to get some miles in after 3 years of not competing, definitely felt rusty but the speed was coming in the latter stages.
We lost a minute when the engine cut out after misfiring loads, we flicked it over a few times and she finally lit again, but the misfire was still there, just some electrical gremlins I think. Anyway, I have posted some on-board footage of us so check out the links if you're interested.

Cheers to everyone who wished us good luck!

thanks for the kind words

haha had a bit of a mixed start to the event, notice the spin(s) on the first stage!

good job it happened on the airfield where there was room for error, dread to think what might of happened if we started on the roads, was a combo of new (both untested and unscrubbed), cold and overinflated rear tyres

after tweaking them to 26psi and giving them time to warm up before going balls out it handled spot on, had some brilliant slides through the lanes!

ended up 6th in class (out of 13) and 16th overall (out of 40 odd)

all in all well chuffed!

For this event it was a mix of single venue stages at the airfield and proper closed road stages, so for the airfield you just get given a basic map of the route and it was joeys job to point me in the right direction. Then for the roads we had written pace notes prepared before the rally during designated recce days. You will love rallying once you get started.

had only 1 event so far and that was by no means succsesful (emerald stages at rockingham in feb') due to the idiot who built the engine previously head to rebuild and replace alot of the engine.
Already hooked think my next car will be 1.6 205 as i have AB motorsport right round the corner

yeah, after lunch once we were on the road stages with our own pace ntoes ben opened her up and was really hooning it

aye, you would think the airfield stages would be the easiest/fastest, but its hard when theres nothing in every direction, and you have to spot a cone gate at 100mph

me and ben used to run trackdays up there so know our way about, and we still get puddled coming out of chicanes lol

the road stages are whats its all about, everyone here must have been in the situation where youve had to back off on open roads incase someones coming the other way, or your worried the road might not be clear,

well imagine you dont have to do this, you know the roads clear, and theres no speed limits

fagic!
