i am currently in a bit of a dilemer, the insurance company im with for house hold cover has told me i need to get a bike from a curtain company (www.wheelies.co.uk).
i had ask to get the 2008 specialized p2 http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeSpe...l=P.2&Type=bike unfortunatly they cannot get this anymore so i dont know what bike to get, i have about 900 pounds to play with to get a new bike but it has to be through them :(

i dont really know what to do i need some advise on good dirt jump bikes really.

insurance companies are fucking pirates go tell them to fuck themselves and get a cheque off them

paul, when you pay your premium , you pay to indenmnify any losses you incure through theft damage fire etc,
they are legally bound to replace the bike you had with a new one the same model ,

one or the rules of insurance is that in the event of a claim, you can be neither better or worse off after settlement,

ie, you had X bike stolen, you fget X bike replaced or cash equivilent,


do not let then dictate to you where you replace the bike from, if you have to go elswhere , then you tell then so,

and take no bullshit,

if they get funny about you wanting to shop elswhere tell then to just replace the model you had stolen withing 14 days,, that will soon have them realising they are fucked,

they seem a bit pricey as well, the bike i got is £330 on there and i got it for £270 soa big difference on a relatively cheap bike.

Are you looking for a whole bike or parts to build yourself?

AMEN!!!! Keep it oldskool too, DMR trailstar or oneone gimp, have ridden many jump bikes and these are my faves, still got my DMR set up on an old set of white bros dc110 tripple clamps! cant beat it!

well i phone the insurance people and they said some random crap i didnt unserstand about how i had to go through the wheelies people. i phoned them up just a minuit ago and told them to get the 2009 p2 for me, so im waiting on them now to get back to me. i would build a bike up but it would be alot more expencive and tbh i cant be assed to fook around anymore. as for the dmr's i think they are a very good dirt bike but are quite heavy, my p2 cromo was alot lighter than my mates dmr rythem

Ive just had a cheque through for my bike!! lucky cause I bought one before I knew I was getting a cheque

well i have bitten the bullit which also gave me tooth ach, but anyways i have got a p1 orderd, with hope sas rims hope mini hydro breaks and dmr v8 pedals. so i will hopefullyhave a bike again very soon :)
