I'm going to look at an MG midget tomorrow night. its been raced in the MGOC for about 4 years and looks like a smart car.

I think (and I may be wrong) but you can a form from your post office and apply/register that way? not 100% tho.

if it has a chassis no , and vin plate you can apply for a V5, form from PO |

the vin will be stamped into the shell somewhere, it may even have a hidden VIN ? a photo of the glass would help me age it for you (the triplex bit has hidden codes) its ideal to do it on the rar window as this is the least likely to have been changed . if you have some items on the car ie glass which would indicate its ID you could get away with it, but DVLA will SABTVRO the number which is what happened to mine.

Is there a body number on the passenger door pillar? BMH can trace the chassis number from the body number. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

This is purely theoretical, but if a person had an MG that was scrap but had a V5 he could possibly assume the identity of the scrap one on to another-I believe that it may have been done before(Not sure how I said that with my tongue so far in to my cheek) |
