corsa's and punto's use electric columns.

corsa's are speed sensitive but can be overridden (not cheap)

puntos couldnt be assed to develop the speed sensitivity so they shuved on a "city button" to make it lighter when you want to park. its the second gen putno's that come with that column.

electric racks though i have not a clue. what ever they sound rather new and expensive and in either case you will be pretty hard pressed to find one in a scrappy.

Most electric power steering I've come across is an electrically driven hydraulic pump. BINIS, Saxos/106s etc have this setup.

most of the new generation of toyotas use electric coloums the trouble is im pretty sure most cars that have a electric coloum will require a speed signal. as you need less steering assist at speed. toyotas i know that have electric coloums are yaris from about 52 plate maybe abit earlier, last shape corollas, present shape avensis lots more i cant think off. lol they all have seperate ecus. the spead signals normally come from abs sensors via abs ecu. dont know how they would work without the speed signal.

also i thought there was somebody doing kits for minis with the corsa unit if so and you find out who perhaps you could find out how they do it.?

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

there are little boxes that you can buy on ebay that are basically a signal box for the column ecu which then give you the ability to adjust the sensitivity but the last time i checked they were around £100+

the punto columns dont need a speed sensor as fiat where too lazy. god bless them.

Some info here, not that expensive even once you allow for the cost of a 'box' edit which does away with the speed sensor.

Mine cost under £200 all in.

Hope that Helps
