I hope to get my inlet modded this weekend so as that i can fit the inlet air temperature sensor and also a map sensor take off.

Am i ok to fit the sensor in the inlet as its on a suck through configuration, will the fuel evaporation on the sensor give dodgy readings?

Im going to fit the original plastic bush as well to try and counteract heat soak problems.

For those that dont know my engine is a supercharged mpi as the vmax scart kit.
Cheers all

I would question to whether you need to run a vacum off the inlet manifold with this cam, you maybe better off with purchasing a TPS to get the full benefit of your MJ. I have only learnt this myself over the past weeks, and this is the route I am going

Sorry i should have explained that im using the Emerald ECU. So i already utilise a map sensor and Throttle position sensor.

Considering the IAT, by their very nature they are an open element sensor with a very low thermal inertia (so they can respond very quickly to changes).

As evaporative cooling requires the body being cooled to provide the heat for evaporation, I would think the sensor could provide very little, especially if you are insulating it from the manifold.

So I would think any mis-reading would be small but, more importantly, uniform across all temperatures....

Do you have to enter the temperature/resistance curve into Emerald ???

If so, you could try a small offset in the temperature values.

Otherwise, just map the fuel with it telling the ECU what it thinks the temperature is - the actual value is irrelevant once the lambda is right, it's the fact it's telling the ECU that the charge temperature is going up or down that matters.

That's the way i would look at it.....

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???
