I'm in the process of building the car back up and want to fit and alarm and remote locking. Its been years since I hade to think about buying anything like this or indeed fit them to a mini.

I've got a Laserline Cat 1 Alarm & Immobiliser in the British Open and it is the worst thing I have ever brought for the car.

thats a good call - I'll be running megajolt too. I take it the laserline doesn't have a valet mode? I had an old clifford alarm years ago in my metro that could be switched off with a hidden switch - not sure if this would conform to CAT standards though

Whatever alarm you go for make sure that you can deactivate it when you go on the rollers. I need my ignition on to power my MJ & make changes to the map, however if I have the injection on for more than 5 seconds without starting the engine the bloody alarm goes off. |

The mini spares one has a valet switch, not a bad unit with loads of switchable options on.

I was looking at these last night on the bay. probably a good starting point as I can at least get the doors built up
