Hi, I was wondering if anybody had some ideas about the way the Miglia's have their subframes mounted.

Looking at some of the pictures on the web I see that the front subframe is raised by removing the lower mounting on the tower bolts. I guess some sort of spacer would be needed to center the tower bolts in the holes? Also I read somewhere that the bolts are bored out so that the hilos can be adjusted through the tower bolt.

If anybody has an clues about this would really appreciate the help. I'm building a track car and trying to run it quite low.

Cheers

Its a trick way of lowering the car but keeping the steering and suspension geometry right as well as driveshaft angles

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Sprocket.. Do you know if a bushing is needed to keep the tower bolts centered in their holes in the body?

no mate i dont, however if i were to do it, i would just sit the body onto the subframe and fit both solid mount bushes on the top back to back

Tareq, thats my friends car in that photo, and I know the car builder very well.

Cut the lip off the top of of the subframe tower (around where the bolt goes in) so it's flush with the top of the subframe.

This is mine,

machine a spacer up the same thicknes of both subframe spacers, (I'll measure mine tommorow) and mount above the cross member, there is nothing between the body and the subframe.

you will also need to fabricate lower subframe mounts,

Why do you need to cut the lip off the subframe Jim?

Got it... Thank Jimster

Would it be a good idea to try and raise the rear subframe aswell?

Cheers

well you don't really need to, but it's doing nothing now as it's not locating the rubber, there is no thread in it so chop it off to save the evil weight
