Please bear with me as I am a complete numpty with electronics.I can buy a complete set up for £280 and am quite happy with the mechanical side of things, but do I need a laptop and a degree in cleverness to set it up?.Does the kit come with a default setting so that I can run the engine to get it to someone who can tweak it for me ?.All suggestions, including rude and amusing ones gratefully accepted. |

Sorry, but you asked for this .... Get a laptop, learn how it all works and then set the basics up yourself. Seriously, I wouldn't spend that much without having given myself a basic understanding of what it does / how it works. Even if you don't want to do the final (ie, rolling road type) settings, you really need to learn how the programming interface works before handing it to someone else to setup for you. There's an old phrase, "You're never too old to learn...." There are plently of forums for Megajolt (Megasquirt in my case) to read up on. Electronics isn't difficult..... it's like real engineering except the bits that break are smaller :) Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |
