well a volume with dimensions in mm gives you mm^3. There are one million (10^6) mm^3 in a litre. So 1 litre corresponds to 10^6mm^3

Wow, typing powers into a forum is awkward

Basically...oil catch tank to hold 2 litres.
Got ally tube, measures 98.9mm inside.
Sealed one end up and poured 2 litres of water in it. Approx 270mm tubing................

pi*r^2*h is really all there is to it
r = 98.9/2 = 49.45mm
r^2 = 2445.3025mm^2
pi*r^2 = 7682.1443 mm^2
pi*r^2*h = 2,074,178 mm^3

Are you using diameter instead of radius?

Ah, James beat me to it*frown*
