As you know i'm moving to the land of Cubic inches, american pie and big waistlines...
Well last time i was out there (last week) I checked out the local drag strip on a thursday night.
Can't remember what it's correct name is - something like 131Martin Dragway, but it's around 15 miles from where i'll be living, and has got all the 'pukka' timing gear, and often sees top fuelers and the like running there - so the timing equipement is definately up to spec - so we will still be able to compare my times to all yours!

Anyway, here are a few pics:

The rest are Here:

In case you're wondering what the strange looking white 'thing' is with the nozzle on the front, that is the track drying machine... It's a simple chassis with a diesel engine for manouvring, but has a jet engine mounted in the bed, which blasts out of this funnel to blow water away and dry the track... Mad.

Incidentally, the UK could learn something from this place. The track is open almost every thursday and Friday night from april to septemeber for test and tune, and most weekends.
It also costs just $10 to get in, and an extra $5 to run as often as you like (that's a total of ?8/9 ish to turn up and race!)...
Think i'm going to enjoy myself there...

Excellent. you'll have access to much better petrol than us too - can compare your times and see what difference it makes.

And it's not bloody raining there.

We've just had another 'heavy' shower and the drains have overflowed. Factory and warehouse floors are covered in water

Enjoy, lucky b'stard.... :)
