As some of you may know, I'm currently building a 1460 16v turbo motor up using the BMW K head and need to know who the best modifier around is to sort it out. I don't mind spending good money but I don't like spend good money and getting bugger all in return. I'm really looking for it to be as fully speced up as possible.

Any help would be very much apprieciated.

Thanx

DON'T go to morspeed then! *hehe!*, I had mine done by them and I ended up redrilling and tapping the threads as they looked like they were done by a 5 year old and the it pissed oil out as it hadn't been milled flat either...after 2 hours of scraping the face in it was sorted!

Specialist components are your best bet for professional machining work on the K heads. *wink*

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Lol Ok, ok I put my hands up. I got my kit from Simon but I really dont want to get in a debate over that. What I recieved from him I am very happy with and if anybody has had issues with him then its not my buisness. Though am I mistaken for thinking he built the engine that is currently one of the quickest hill climb cars out there?

ANYWAY!!!

So how long has JonK been working on these heads then and whats the most powerful he's had running?

Even if Morspeed can build the engines... I've been waiting 2 years for my bits and now a refund...
Anything is better when you actually get what you paid for.

Thats the question we're all asking...he's keeping us in suspence with his new build! *hehe!*

John's done his research, even sectioned a head for research purposes. Do a search on here for his pojects and im sure you'll know where to go for head work! *wink*

If you want your money back i'd be trying a little harder very very soon. I have heard rhumours the VAT Reaper is in the area*oh well*

Whether these rhumours are true or not, it would appear the owe money or engines to a fair few people.

i havent a clue what you need to get done one of these heads but im sure you could take it to any good machine shop and if you can tell them what you want done then they could do it.

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

Rhumours are rhumours and good for nothing in my opinion. I think he's all above bord. I offered him cash for my conversion but hewasnt fussed and was more than happy for it to go through his books.

ANYBLOODYWAY!!!!!

Clutch wise ill be running a twin plate set up. I personally think the double grey is old hat now and its time for just as much development in the clutch department as there is in ecu and head design.

What do u mean by OP Carl?

i think this is going abit off track now.

opinions have been given. the most popular seems to be SC, but there are other options that have been said.

its now time for you to hit the search button, google and the yellow pages for some research.
