Can you use an injection fuel tank with the metro turbo fuel pump mounted externally from the tank, or do you have to use the injection fuel pump?

If you can use the metro turbo pump, are there any mods needed to the pipes in the tank?

If you do need to use the injection fuel pump what is its maximum pressure in psi?

Does anyone else use the injection tank?

Cheers!!!

no need for metty turbo pump as well as Injection tank unless you are planning huge boost.

I am using a standard Injection tank on my turbo with no problems

standard boost (6psi) You will find alot of cars on here use the injection tank. From what I recall, only the big boys (12psi and up) use external pumps. Might be wrong though, hopefully Turbo Dave or Miniwilliams will put me straight.

I am running 9psi but my engine is built to take upto 15psi so I guess I should really stick with the metro turbo fuel pump, just incase 9psi becomes a yawn!

Is the injection pump built into the tank?

Cheers for the help.

YES it is built into the tank, the question is which injection tank are you after mpi or spi?

Is there a difference?

What I really what to do is use the pipe work from the injection tank and the pump from the metro turbo mounted externally.

there is no need to use the pipework from a mini, I went to B&Q and bought a 20meter roll of 8mm microbore copper pipe for my fuel lines. cost me about £12 I think.

you may well have an issue having the injection pump and the metty pump in line, the metty pump will need to pull fuel through the injection pump (which you probably won't be wiring up?)

When using the standard 7.5 gallon tank, has anyone had to enlarge the main fuel feed pipe?
As it is alot smaller than the large pipe on the metro turbo fuel pump.
Cheers.

Modded the standard 7.5 gallon fuel feed pipe in the end. I just chopped it off and welded a 12mm pipe on.
It now joins up with the metro turbo pump perfectly!

My pump use to make strange noises using the standard fuel feed pipe from the mini petrol tank, but since the mod its very quiet!
