Im looking at laying floor tiles when I finally finish fitting my kitchen. I found some I like, but when talking to the woman in the shop she was trying to tell me they need sealing proir to laying ( both sides) and again when I have grouted? The tiles are polished black, and im worried if i paint a sealer over the top this will change the finish? Can anyone shed a little light opn this for me please.

I have never had to seal floor tiles. If I were you I would look for some tiles that look the same and don't need sealing.

high polished tiles scratch easy if you buy the domestic type, personally i would not buy tiles that need sealing Crystal Sound Audio said:

However, from experiance polished black tiles on the floor are a pain in the arse. they look smashing the day you lay them, but you have to clean them properly all the time, and getting the streaks out is impossible. if it is a natural stone ie marble, granite, slate then they do need sealing. not sure about both sides though.

I'm not usually cynical, but James1911 - you have made two posts, both dredging up old threads and both of which happen to be the subject of the two business you link to in your signature.
