Before I take a sledge hammer to my PC and ipod can some lead me in the right direction please.

Downloaded itunes version8

I have a new but unused shuffle, about 18 months old, the one without the touch screen.

I have it's serial number.

Do I have to register it with itunes or somewhere?

On my itunes it has a "register ipod" bit but the screen does no scroll accross far enough to click on the tabs.

This is doing my fucking head in.

Is there any easy way, the ipod is just a gloryfied USB memory stick after all.

Any tips.

In search for my sanity once more!

Many thanks

JF.

I have had similar problems with a website in the past where a window/pop-up was a fixed size and you couldn't scroll to all the info.

It was a while ago but I think I changed the display resolution of the PC to get round it.

The other possibility is to use the magnifying glass at the bottom of the internet explorer window to zoom out (or use ctrl and -)

hold the ctrl key and scroll the page with the mouse, that should enlarge or reduce the page size

Yes, you need to register your ipod before it will let you download music from the site or onto your player.

If I were you, I would remove the itunes software from your pc, then plug in the ipod. It should turn on, then prompt you to download itunes. Load itunes that way and follow the registration insrtuctions.

Sling the piece of crap. . . ipod screwed up my computer and gave me 10gb of unnamed tracks.
Their 'customer service' told me I needed to replace the harddrive although it was working, then they said I might as well get another iPod instead. Grrr.
Sorry :/
