just want to check that what i'm going to do is o.k.

i will be using the thermostat housing from a 94 mini, the type with 2 sections. this is to save me drilling the head for the heater take off.

is this o.k?

but in answer to your question it depends what you want to do with the take off, if its just to the heater then can't see why it would be a problem,

alot of people (myself included) take water out the flywheel end of the head as it tends to be hotter.

i've put this take off straight into my rad and ditched the heater, depends what you want at the end of the day!
