engine dilema

having a bit of a dilema at the moment. I realy want to get the car on the road for next summer but time and cash are not going to allow it.

I've got a complete turbo motor sitting under the bench as a spare. The thought was to give it a service and stick it in the car as is to get things up and running and then build up the proper unit through time

my gut feeling is that I'll never get round to completing the project proper if I go down this road as I've got the woody to restore next and all cash and attention will be focused on that.

so should I put what I've got into the car and enjoy it, or take my time and get it right first time?

Take your time mate, if you want the car on the road sooner, maybe lower your goals to something simpler, overhaul the engine but dont go daft with it.

I put a tired old motor in my project so I could drive her for a few months and I dont regret it. It only spurs me on to imagine what she is going to be like when I get the resourses to build her motor proper.

The original motor broke the cam so I just put in one of the spares and have enjoyed a good summer.

The spare engine is all but dead, breaths very hard and the compressions are all over the place.

Fit what you got and enjoy it you dont know whats around the corner.
