what do most people run? verto or non verto? i understand that you cant fit uprated diaphragm to the non verto setup. hopefully will be running about 120 bhp, so was thinking that i need to go for non verto? is this right? many thanks

Non Verto the majority of the weight is biased toward the centre of the assembly. Verto the weight is biased towards the outer edge of the assembly. This means for rev happy people fit the non verto type.

I run verto makes no odds to me I have no need to spin up a fraction of a second quicker than the next guy

Any real increase in torque over the standard 85 ft/lb & the Verto just won't hold.
Use the grey diaphragm/pressure plate & the AP Rally/Race clutch plate, this is enough for most people.

They must have got mixed up. There are several diaphragms for pre verto. Green, Blue, Orange, Grey and Double Grey if memory serves

I'd go for a double verto setup, as per Roberts thread (in tech section). His seems to withstand his "get away car" driving style with quite a few bananas and curleys on board. *hehe!*

The pedal is much softer, than a pre verto setup.

It can get a little expensive to convert to pre-verto from verto.

Given that you are only looking for 120hp, then you may wish to consider the new "Heavy Duty Turbo Verto" clutch cover now marketed by Min-its.

I was looking at one at Stanford Hall and it had a very thick single diaphragm.

I will be trying one if my current verto slips at 120hp.

what kind of cost is involved? i have both verto and non verto setups on some of the spare engines i have. do you mean initially getting hold of the parts, or am i overlooking another cost? ta

If you have pre-verto parts then it will be best to use them.

The heavy duty verto cover is £117.50.
