easiest way to do it in a mini is to go onto the existing mounts.

eg the seat belt mounts.

fit a cage and the mightly mini add on to mount the harnesses in, job done. The add on is from SD but fits both roll centre and SD cages.

My first mini had a set of britax harnesess fitted and these were anchored only useing the existing tunnel mount and inner sil mounting points. Bugger to unclip to get to the back seats. And by the looks of it totaly wrong.

Hi i just recently mounted harness ( 4 point), for the side bolts i drilled into tho arm rest type things on the outer sides of the seats then on the inner side of the seats (handbrake side) i drilled thru the floor ( on the hump, where the exhuast runs under the car) and bolted it down. Back seats removed, so drilled thru the back plate where the seat would rest up against, and bolted it down. hope it helpss, worked for me and still does.

im sure i read somewhere that you shouldn't bolt it through the floor, because in the event of an accident the floor might move/bend/twist/buckle. cant remember the sauce though

Use additional plates underneath the floor should solve this.

I've never really like the angle this mounts the harnesses at, especially as it is way in excess of what is allowed by the Blue Book & the fitting instructions that came with my harnesses.

As milamber said weld extra plates in the bottom, or just not get in an accident*happy*

You need to be vaey careful when mounting the belts.

If you use the original mounts in the back seat it really limits how far back you can mount the seat. The straps need to be no more than 45deg to horizontal.

Again with the front mounts, these can be too far forward if you have moved the seat back.

You can buy plates with the bolt in from tweekies etc. I welded these to the tunel, the floor near the sill and then on a big plate on the back seat about 1/2 way up.

Because of the shortness of the mini and the lack of strength behind the driver, fitting belts is tricky.
