Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Not a bad banana count but below what i was hoping.

Excuses first, well basically i wasnt getting enough boost. I was making 8psi with no bleed and 12psi with bleed so there is something amiss there which needs looking at.

Also means it was running really a bit rich for the boost it was seeing but better safe than sorry.

But that aside, i saw 154 banana's at 6krpm but suprisingly saw a drop of nearly 10bhp going up to 7k so there is some sort of restrcition, or maybe a cam timing issue to check this winter.

end of the day it ran faultlessly, had numerous high speed runs round the industrial estate and generally a bit of fun.

it was ok, but got more last time, although a lot of people said they were slightly down on last time.

Its amazing though what a few extra pounds of boost do.

I was hoping to be able to get about 18psi out of it, turbo's good for it, although i have a feeling that the cracks in the wastegate housing arent helping so may have to find another.

yup.

its good, but still annoying as i was hoping to get the boost higher than before, not lower and go for 200. basically to piss the bmw mini's off! *happy*

a figure is a figure, it will come back bigger and better next year *happy* cant be hard since it only went out once to york this year!!

Took Dan for a ride on 8psi and it certainly went well enough.

Took it for another one afterward and forgot to shut the bleed valve, made a lot of difference to traction in the first couple of gears!

may i add that i got the 'hot seat' ride in iain's car, seeing as there is only one seat fitted i got the pleasure on sitting on the floor!

did seem to go extremely well though, and yet seemed to well within the cars limits.

good stuff mate, and thanks for inviting me along as your +1

:)

also showing dan that on a good incline, chuck the car in 4th at 2krpm and it just pulls along with no effort showing that a turbo is the way to go *happy* non of this lumpy cam stuff!

Engine will be out in the next few weeks for a good tidy up over winter so hopefully i'll get to the bottom of the boost issues.

I know jim was having problems bleeding it off?

It wasnt stressful, was a laugh! I built the car to take a beating, i'm confident in its build and setup so it just gets abused!

Paul Goy in Lincoln. It will be in Miniworld soon enough as it was a club RR day.

Top A series BHP of the day, only beaten by a 1.8vvc pickup (which was very nicely done in a std length front end) and the 2 new cooper s's which had both had work done.
