Quick question.

Does anyone know the legalities of no rear bulkhead?

Structural strength isn’t really an issue as from the rear hoop on the cage backwards is going to be space framed.

Tube Notcher and pipe bender sitting doing nothing in my garage.

But 5 weeks or so till I can use my right hand for anything other then typing and driving.

z-cars mate. give then a ring and see if any of thier cars have to be SVA'd or anything, that is the only real issue i can think of.

i dont think they do have to be though as ive never heard anything about one of thier cars going for the test.

i was more thinking about the lack of bulkhead between them and the fuel tank.

Don't know the legalities but I'd feel happier if I had some kind of bulk head between me & the fuel tank.

That said the Crawford / Hooper (I hope I got the names right) hatch backs didn't have a rear bulkhead.

im not concerned about that really.

there will be no heat source or any source of ignition near the fuel tank (such as an exaust or a battery).

the exaust exits tru the rear 1/4 and the battery is in the passegnger foot well.

provideing the car can get through an mot it doesnt bother me.

Warwick.

bit of a stupid idea if you ask me, in the event of a roll over, you can possibly rupture the tank, especialy if shunted, fuel everywhere in the compartment, spark from hitting the ground or something equiviment could easy ignite the inside

Can't see any reason why you can't remove it if you have a cage fitted.
You can always make a ally box to go over the tank as a secondary barrier/firewall. :)

Aye, i might put in a removeable firewall as it wouldent be that much more effort, in for the mot, out for events.

As mini93 says, you will need a firewall for motorsport use.
