OK - So my project car really isn't anywhere near completion, but while trying to get my head around what I might want on my dash I decided i'd ask what guages people have on show.

The current ones i've decided i would like are as follows:
* Boost (obviously *wink*)
* Oil Pressure
* Water Temp

- I Don't really wish to go over the top and have Gauges everywhere, but do wish to have ones that are 'needed'

Any advance on what other gauges people use / plan to use / find useful, would be much appreciated.

i just have boost and air/fuel ratio.
Though i do have warning lights for water temp and oil temp, oil pressure and volts.
Means an uncluttered dash, no distractions, but important info when its needed. as my mini is 1972 and no giveaway at all that it is turbo.

Boost
Oil Pressure
Oil Temp

Was thinking about a fuel pressure one, but didnt fancy a live fuel line pointing at me!

was going to fit an inlet charge thermocouple but never got round to doing it. For a given intake temp you can control your combustion temp. If you are able to control your inlet temp you can safely increase your boost without fear od detonation and you also narrow the thermal change felt across the turbo.

Fuel and amps on the dashboard, is BAD *oh well*

The Volt gauge will tell you all you need to know about the charge state without the danger of having 60 amps on the dash, and you just dont put fuel onto the dash. If you want a fue gauge, mount it outseide the cabin.

Most you would ever need is volts, oil temp, oil pressure, water temp, Boost or Vac, and perhaps AFR.

Vac gauge isnt really that informative, but it makes for conversation with the passenger, lol.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

you can get a fuel pressure gauge where the sensor is the other side (basically a membrane) and then the gauge inside. All mechanical but means fuel stays in the engine bay.

That said, my fuel lines are inside

Me. but a terminated fuel terminal inside the car doesnt sound good to me. Epecially around wiring.

But you run fuel and braklines along the tunnel usually which is fine, no joins.

Unlike youre relying on a union on the back of a gauge next to other wiring is just abit concerning!

*wink*

Im glad some one agrees:)

Some one may be able to confirm, but im sure the blue book says that if the fuel lines that are run inside the car, must be contuous length and no terminated ends within the cabin.

Iain, you are correct, have you seen the price though, and how often do you need to check your fuel pressure *wink*
