engine and oil pressure question

hi was wondering if anybody could help me the turbo engine ive just put in my car was stood for approx 2 years when i start it up and give it a few revs it sounds like a lawnmower just like it would if it was a valve knackered ive done a compresion test on it and all 4 are very similar reading around 150 could it just need everything setting up carb etc also when reved i get what sounds like a big knock ocasionaly think it might be coming from turbo or actuator and after running engine for 5-10 min oil pressure light comes on engine has 89k it has no external oil water leaks and starts instantly of the key the engine was of ebay and i was told very good fast engine and we all know people are honest and dont tell lies on ebay engine and box will be rebuilt just wanting a little go before i do

whats the oil pressure first ?
attach a gauge and see what you have

This does not sound good. If the oil light comes on when it warms up it suggests that the bearings are knackered,but an oil pressure gauge test, as above, will confirm.

Had the same thing on one of my engines. Turned out that moisture had gotten into the bearings (even though I left it fullof oil) and the first time I cranked it a load of the bearing material pas picked of the bearing shells. this allowed the oil an easy path out and resulted in very very low oil pressure.

Luckily ther was no damage to the crank and all that was needed was a full set of mains and big end bearings.

hi i tried to get hold of oil pressure guage today no joy changed oil and filter again and used engine flush left engine to tickover for approx 30 min and no oil pressure light tried all day to cure misfire 2&3 not firing though sparking and plugs getting wet swapped pluglead 2&3 over sorted cant believe i set it up wrong after reading 100s of times on here of other peoples similar experiences feel a proper div next on shopping list guages anyone selling any oil & boost is this all i need ? thanks to all for help
