Timing, best/easiest way to do

Ok had to pull the disy out and put back in, its obviously slightly out, floor it and the car studders and feels like its slowing as I come to around 2.5-3k

How do you get the timing just right?

Also when I start no smoke about 4 mins later blue smoke for about 2-3mins then no smoke again? where do you think its passing and why only for this small amount of time

You need a timing light.
