The pics are in order and show how its progressed *happy*

This is at the last owners, before the work started MUHAHAHA!

as soon as it arived i fitted my 6x12's they were in need of a refurb so i set about spraying the centres vauxhall moonaland grey with a polished lip (there still one more to do)

Then i decided the 4x4 ride height wasent for me so i set about lowering it

the small ones were doorcrds out the mini I've chopped up to fit perfectly, (quite abit of chopping so a fair amount of c/f left)
the large one is a front doorcard but as I'm not using mk3 on doors in the mini so the cards are redundant so there getting put to use in the metro, the line at the bottom (ish) is where i will cut the card the piece below the line will be a boot trim panel as i dont have a rear window wiper i dont need ht ebig bulge in the std plastics so its getting replaced.

basically so far I've done:
pulled arches (back)
smoothed boot spoiler holes
removed boot (75%) sound deadening
removed interior (found rust in footwells (about the size of a 10p in each
removed front nearside wing (spotless behind it)
cut and perfected boot trim panel...
recieved my oil cooler bits and bobs
lightweightified the rear bumper

i couldnt stand that dirty arch so i had to sort it :p stone chipped, and componenets got a coating of satin black extreme chassis coat calipers and arb... red... the arch will soon be painted i just wanted to see it abit more presentable
oh and can anyone say C-A-R-B-O-N.....

Before:

After:

when i get bored i clean (im on detailing world its that bad!) and how can i put this... all week I've been BBBOOORRREEEDDD so the cleaning commenced

the engine needs more work but the engine bay area is preety much sorted, heres a few random hard to reach bits that I've cleaned and general bits *happy*

oh and stone chipped chassis blacked and sprayed my offside arch.
lacquered and polished my two finished wheels aswell *happy*

well, more carbon in and my go faster momo race wheel with gold bolts :p *happy* floors in satin well 75% of it is, BUT where i couldnt get in with the spanners or nuts to fit some of the bolts I've had to drill holes so i need blanks... 1 1/2" blanks... anyone shead any light on where i can get some?

opening rear windows and no cards, lets see how long it takes before the ear defenders come into play!

a quick list of whats removed so far:
boot trim panels (replaced with carbon)
wheel well cover
parcel shelf
rear seat
rear seat mounts
b pillar belt covers (replaced with carbon)
rear doorcards (replaced with carbon)
front doorcards
a pillar trims
carpet
ALL sound proofing
doorstep/side wall plastic trim
seat crossmember trim
whole speaker system (every wire e.t.c)
arm rests (replaced with alloy door pulls)
window winders (replaced with alloy winders)

debadged grille anyone, still W.I.P but getting there, abit more plastic to weld in on the lower rail at the back and fill two holes but its goin well, only the lower bit to do, plastic filler, std plastic primer and some satin black to add :unibrow:

Bits welded up so far:
rear wiper hole
passengers side door lock
LHD wiper hole
side repeaters on the turbo wing (offside)
aerial hole (offside wing)

^^ thats the general condition of all the panels before fillering so they hardly need anything, thats a pic of the aerial hole that was ontop of the offside wing.

wing ready for fillering

boot needs more flatting back but is all marked up for filler e.t.c

just a random pic of the arch which was doen with a hammer and yet to be smoothed, its about 2" wider than std *wink*

i then tried on some 7x15" mims i had purely to get width and offset ideas, i think this is perfect so I'm going to get soem 13's in this size i think *happy*

bootlid internal section and drivers wing are 75% done, theyve been red oxide rollered just to protect them *happy* , the whole thing will be flatted and high build primered when al the fillering is done *smiley*

In a an affort to save weight i decided the bootlid wasent all that structural so out came the the hole saw... the recessed bit you wont see as its under the carbon sheet, its the outer bits you will see

the wing was all rolled with the aid of a hammer and a block of wood, no dollies or fancy equipment, proper pikey enginering  but tbh i dont think its turned out bad *smiley*

Thanks guys, everyone has said that spanner, to be honest i could see past the granny image ok ok its still a metro BUT they are preety similar to a mini so i couldnt see why i couldnt make something of it.
The look im going for is ''euro'' which for anyone unsure is low, wide and smooth. a VW thing mainly but many others do also do it *happy*

Thanks again

oh haha, i used a BIG piece of hardwood to jack on then just put the axle stands in the grass.
the jack is in the grass as the block of wood was too big to leave there and still work on the car comfortably so i removed it. i wanted abit more protection so just threw the std jack back under *happy*

Thanks mate

looks good mate. just one thing. is it s turbo? from your earflier posts i thought it was an N/A but its got all turbo clocks and boost gauge in it. i dnt know owt about metro's so.

i would imagine its not otherwise you wouldnt be asking about oil feed/drain on turbo's.

i look at metro's more and more and think they are actually pretty sweet. started with slaters i think.

Paul, that was slaters.
he was my main reason for wanting one, ive got plans for banded steels too *wink* but thats when the conversion is finished, which leads me to james's question...

No atm it isent turbo'd its a MINT 1.3 BUT i have started to fit everything the clocks are there as the std clocks dont have a rev gauge, the centre clock is there as there was a spare hole with nothing in it that needed filling haha!
Ive just fitted the dizzy, turbo oil return tomorrow its the carb (minus a accelerator cam if anyone has one they want to get rid of? ) and the fueling side fo everything *happy*

Thanks

Thanks guys, got a few VERY poor pic you may like *happy*

minispeed wanted £55 for a oil turbo feed pipe and £30 for 1 mocal hose 2 foot long for the block to oil cooler. i went to my local hydraulics place and got them BOTH and 12 8.5mm p clips for £25 *happy* SCORE

The pics are abit poor due to no heating in the workshop and it being 4 degrees *frown*

im tempted to relocate my washer bottle and move the header tank facing down the wing instead of out of it (make a custom alloy tank) just so i can fit some silicone induction hose.

Cant think of any other way i can get the induction hose to the front of the bay where the fresh cold air is, i coudl leave it floating about in the bay but if i can i would much rather have cold air feed.

it had one to start with i didnt liek it BUT i was planning on chopping the fins out of one for a custom look, i also thought about that but then thought about water (moisture mainly) getting in the pipe....?

theres LOADS of room on the offside area and there is no reason it cant haev its own custom box and own bonnet vent its just getting the piping over there that ruled that one out *frown*
