Well this car is well under way, after a lot of thinking trough out this season as to what my Race car for next years season will be I have finally decided on a spec,

Engine is to be,
BMW 16V cylinder head
1330cc block
with steel crank on std stroke
H beam rods omega pistons
4 bolt main strap
oil cooling jets and a few other trick block mods
custom manifolds
and a two small turbos
JK ECU
JK conversion kit
custom pendulum *tongue*

gear box is to be a Swifty dog box with ATB dif

the shell I am preparing as we speak an I will have some pic up by the end of the month the front end will be stock
and the back well that’s a different story I let the pic do the talking when they come along,
I will update this spec more as I finalise them,

here is today’s work some nice new 1330 Omega pistons with a bit more space :)

Will we all club together here last year and started a new race series called the Irish Mini Challenge before this we where only allowed to run in the historic racing series, which we found very restrictive. We now have 4 classes (1275 - 1350) class 1 (1350 to 1400) class 2 (1400 +) class 3 and class 4 is heavily moded mini i.e. turbo, super charger, 16V. The only regulation bar safety is that you must use an A - Series block and gear casing and a steel body mini shell. TBH for the likes of my self it is a dream come true it can make things a bit expensive though, but there is a very small number of race minis in Ireland so this does not seem to be such a big problem. I am looking forward to see how it will go, it will be the first turbo to race in the challenge and the first BMW K head to race in the challenge, boom or bust is my motto.

Do you really need the steel crank though?

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

that should be great sir, I would be a little worried about the sharp angle on the pistons where it has been machined out, I'm not sure this is a good idea as things get very hot and there isn't much meat arounf them edges, just wanted to share my thought with you.
