Hi all.
As some bastar* tried to cut my garage locks, i'm looking to buy something different. i'm told the Shutter Block Padlocks are good.
I'm after 2. and was wandering if these are any good ?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Shutter-Block-Padloc...id=p3286.c0.m14

http://www.transtools.co.uk/store/prod_723...dlock-70mm.html

They have to have the 22 width size on the Shackle, as show on the picture in the link. or would you recomend a different make etc ?

Cheers.

ill get some piccys up of the locks on my garage doors, a more expensive option but your not going to get them open in a hurry unless you want to cut the door apart from the outside.

go for abus if i were you if they're your 2 choices. zone are even cheaper imported crap.

*edit* just looked at em properly, go for an equal spec abus one over the zone. that linked abus one doesn't have a hardened body.

I've got one brand spanking new Yale high security shutter padlock (£130 list price) and a couple of high security normal types sat in the garage if you're interested. (i'm a locksmith by trade)

not sure what your thoughts are but I've got an American Lock Co padlock on our shed. All I know is that when the last shed was turned over, our 3 neigbours were all broken into but they couldn't get the lock off our door - still got the chib marks on the top of it to prove where they tried! Best £40 I ever spent - Nick I'm sure you'll have your reservations on the quality given your background though!

So nick, would the abus ones be easy to break in to ?

Thing is, i need them to have the 22 width size on the Shackle, and can't find anything better then the abus ?

Do you have anything of that size ?

Cheers.

P.s, this say it has the hardened steel material ? oh i guess it has to be on the body also ?

the abus would be easier to break than the zone, probably even do-able with some decent bolt croppers tbh as its just a brass body with one roller on the narrow part.

I've got one of these http://www.asllocksshop.co.uk/index.php?ac...676155b1934da4f which i could do for £45 posted.

Or i've got a few high security hardened normal type padlocks, and a pair of traditional lever type insurance padlocks keyed alike.

I know squire used to do some decent horizontal padlocks but can't remember the codes of them to save me life. I'll have a browse and see what i can find for you.

Hello nick. thanks for the offer mate, but needs tobe 22m, your one is 21m.
I had a look and the 21m would be to small.

I don't want to spend no more then £30, as i need 2 locks :)
Edit, think i'll get 2 of these SQUIRE ASWL1. What you think ?

Are these 2 the same one. as one seems to have brass, and the other don't. or are they both the same.

yeah they're the same one, they only do one spec on the aswl1's. they're a brass body but with a hardened outer covering.

keyed alike just means that if you're ordering 2 padlocks then get em from a proper locksmiths and they'll order them to both work off the same key, or have the kit to key them in house.

i wish dude, and lockpicking aint as easy as it looks in the films either, quickest way is with a battery drill.

I've had more fun since being a spacker chariot repairman. caught a bird with no legs scrambling to stuff a mahoosive dildo into her bedside cabinet when i walked into her room *laughing*
