Hello lads thanks for the help regarding my dv issues, much appreciated, my next question is, can anyone advise me on the correct method of piping up an intercooler, as things stand now i have a flexi hose coming off the bottom of the turbo with a cone filter connected to it, I have been told rightly or wrongly that I could come from the flexi that's there already pipe this to the intercooler then from the intercooler to another flexi with the air filter attached to it, this seems a little too simplistic to me or am I over complicating things?

A basic diagram would be brilliant

The intercooler needs to go in between the turbo & the plenum, as it's the turbo that heats up the air, putting the intercooler between the air filter and the turbo is akin to pissing into the wind.

Hopefully this will explain it better than I can:

Your best bet is to have a flick through peoples build threads to see how they fitted there intercoolers as I've yet to see two Minis that have done the same thing.

The intercooler needs to be between the compressor outlet and the plenum chamber.

What you described would be uncompressed (ambient) air flowing through the intercooler, you're not going to get that air any cooler!

The plenum and the compress outlet will as you say need to be adapted.

Jon is your man to speak to about these, but you'll have to wait a couple of weeks as he's off on his hols:
