freshly rebuilt motor, using stock early turbo unit without adjustable boost. car starts and runs well up to 3000 or so rpm and than losses all power, pull off to the side of the road and wait a minute or so and it comes back but does the same thing again when accelerating? any ideas? |

fuel starvation sounds likely. 3000rpm is about when boost starts. Check the usual things, gasket between plenum and carb - make sure it has the hole to pressurise the float chamber, balance pipe not blocked - runs from just forward of the fuel inlet to the front of the carb. Check fuel pressure is between 3.5 and 4psi at idle too.
