just been cutting out the rear bins and shortening the rear seat because im fitting a cage.
it was all no probs just wondering about the bins before i do somthing stupid.
ive left about an inch all around the bins i was wondering can i just cut and grind this last inch out so its flat and flush all over or do i need to leave it in some places for strength

I've cut mine out completely - they are spot welded to the floor and B post. On mine, I had to weld plates on the joint the b post to the inner sill

Thats what I was thinking. I'll need to drill a large hole in them instead to get the welder in for the cage.

i have cut out my bins completely, i trimmed the seat edge back aswell leaving about an inch and half because of the way the panels are welded together taking it any further would create huge amounts of work for little gain, i would say its a good couple of kg's
the main reasoning behind mine was so the seats could fit but i might be using a different set of seats when i get it onto the road again

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

Would you say it would be easier to drill the spot welds instead of grinding?
