An 8 port turbo would be very nice, only problem is the chambers in the head are so small ( 16.4 cc ). Getting a low enough CR is tricky.

u could try using one of those spacer head gaskets they are rather expensive and i'm not sure of how good they are but its worth a thought??

The idea is to have more capacity in the piston rather than the head, i am sure more CC could be found in the head with some carefull work. Emphasis on care as breaking through into a gallery could turn out to be an expensive mistake.

trouble with the making of 'spacer plates' is that these affect the rocker geomety... Longer pushrods are a must.

Stick that head straight on a 998 however and you get a CR of around 9.4, which is a much easier place to start reducing the CR.

Yes, Steve has done this. He has been working on minis longer than most of us have been alive, One of the original Dowton tuning boys from the sixties.
