I though the drive shafts were the same regardless of choice or brakes.

my drum shafts fit my disc CV joints, when I changed to the F-brakes

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I'm not sure about the late drum brake ones (never owned any of them) but the early ones were certainly different as they had a sliding joint and an end piece for a rubber cross coupling on them :)

I still have a pair in the shed.....

yep no pot joints on the early stuff, but the whole kit should fit

Do you know, if the early drum brake driveshafts are longer than the "normal" drive shafts?

There are only two types of drive shaft (excluding the differing length per side)

these can be classed as Pot joint shafts and rubber coupling/ hardy spicer shafts. There is no difference on the outer CV joint spline.

There were some really poor thin drive shafts on some early 998s, avoid those.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Metro Drive shafts are longer and have the same CV and pot joint splines

I expect the Allegro 1300 shafts are also the same splines and also longer.
