Looking for some info on my COP coils and I found this, perhaps an alternative to the Zetec jets?

They are from a Suzuki GSXR 1000 K3/K4, maybe on many others, but thats the workshop manual I have *happy*

I know it's quite an old thread to drag up, but it seemed the best place to post this.

These are the Mercedes jets I fitted:

Bolt: M12 x 1.25
Opening oil pressure : 2bar
Jet hole: 2mm

They were rectangular so I rounded off the backs for a little bit more clearance, and I had to tweak the jets slightly to get them to point straight up. The bolts are bigger and longer than the BMW M8x1 bolts - consider drilling the oil hole (3mm hole back to the oil gallery) before fully drilling the main hole completely so that you can get it angled enough.

They were just the cheapest (used) ones on ebay that looked similar to the BMW ones. Used ones should be fine - there's not much to them so just test what pressure the valve opens with a foot pump. I'd guess they're a tiny bit more effort to fit than the BMW jets, but I had a quick look around for the BMW ones but nowhere stocking them in the UK had them and I didn't really want to pay a premium to get the BMW ones from Germany. Used jet prices should be closer to £20 than maybe £40-50 for the BMW option.

As for sealing washers, it doesn't appear that they had any originally. I can't see that they're needed as once the oil gets to the face you're trying to seal, it's free to go down the squirter hole with no resistance.

EDIT: Whoops, I just noticed this thread made absolutely no reference to BMW jets... oh well.

Right then chaps been on to fords... Is the part number 1368460 or 1s7g-6q686-ac. If so ford want £8.68+vat each. I can get them for £7.50+vat each. If anyone needs a set then let me know.

Zetec jets are pretty much redundant now unless you are replacing them on an engine that already has them. The BMW jets are far superior are easier to fit and you dont have to fuck about modifying them.
