I'm not sure how many other people have had this problem but its very annoying.

Current setup, which continues to leak is.

a avonbar kit consisting of a 3/8unf banjo (for turbo) bolt with a 1/8bsp thread into the t piece, then the oil pressure switch and pressure gauge of that!

Now my problem is it is forever ruining the thread on the goodrich bolt, because its the wrong thread, why didn't they make it right in the first place?

So if anyone knows where i can get a 1/8bsp to banjo connector with another 1/8bsp connector of the end of it, i would be externally greatfull!

I have now gone about sorcing a variety of t-pieces and nipples (nic calm down) to make upa 2 t-piece type of system? any coments? Pctures of how yours are done?

any help is greatly appriciated?

I used a sandwich plate behind the oil filter housing on my build. It avoids all the messing with hydraulic fittings etc.

Ive found this aswell, mashed up an oil gauge feed pipe trying to do it up, thought it was just because the threads are slightly tapered, most of the thread doesnt actually go in to the t-piece, but ive yet to start it to see if it will leak.

Shropshire.

I also used a sandwich plate, loads better imo.

Tested oil pressure for the first time yesterday on a new build and no leaks (yet)

So all you need is a 1/8 BSP to 1/8 BSPT adaptor? Is this not an easy thing to source?

I use a remote filter housing because my alternator sits low so i had more room for my intercooler! I suppose i could tap a hole in my blanking plate though, good idea, never thought of that! will that get a constent supply of oil, excuse my ignorance, i have no idea about the oil galleries.

if you tap into the blankign plate there it will be before your filter stef

be aware that the generic brass t pieces come in metric too, and the first few threads will go in ok, but then start to joe mangle

make sure your t piece isnt a metric one!

*edit* im telling porkies i think, yes it will be filtered at the oil filter housing blanking plate,,,

Tell him Josh gave you the number.

He did all my pipes and fittings and he has every thread type going. And If he does not have it he will the next day.

But you can mate NPT AND BSPT did this on mine. No leaks all you need is the tap.

All the male male fittings above are 1/8 BSP parallel to a tapered body fitting.

We used 2 oil pressure gaiuges on mine while cranking. There was only about 5% difference in the pressure reading at the sandwich plate and the oil pressure switch hole

so instead of 70-80 psi at the gauge it will be 60, i'm sure thats more than enough!!!!

ah, I was only taking the piss out of Paul. We would need a more accurate way of measuring both pressures. It could be anywhere from 0 - 10% drop if the gauge is 5% off relative to the other gauge.
Either way, I think its a neat solution and I'm sure it will work perfectly
