Awight everyone!

More progress on the clutch means more info needed!
Take a look at the picture below:

I need the distance from the outer face of the flywheel housing (that the Wok is bolted to) to the washer on the flywheel that the release bearing contacts.

I have got one pre-verto engine in my whole stash - and it's the one in my mini, which takes a lot of time (that I don't have) to remove...

Sooooo, if anyone has an engine or a few engines they could measure - i'd appreciate it. The more dimensions the better - obviously there will be a lot of tolerance in the range, especially with different covers and new/worn plates - so the more dimensions I get, the better... I only need to the nearest mm or so, but if you use a digital caliper I won't complain!*smiley*

BTW - I found when doing the Verto measurements, the best way is to make a 'bridge' to measure from. I put two (long) impact sockets on a piece of 1" square alloy rod and held them in place with a single wrap of insulation tape. i could then measure the distance between the bar and the clutch washer, and subtract this from the height of the sockets to get the dimension.

Thanks all!

I have an engine but not enough bits to make up a complete fywheel assy.

can take the measurment to the end of the crank though if thats of any use,

or maybe a measurment less the clutch plate, sou you need to take off the thickness of the friction plate.

I could try to do this on Saturday as myself and Vegard will remove the engine from my car then.

Hi Mike, Yes, I twocked your picture like a pikey with a hi-ab...

Mike - I'd rather have the info straight off a flywheel / engine...
Mini13 - There are so many variables, I'd prefer to get a range measured at the area I outlined.
Miniminor63 - that'd be great. Cheers.

Dave

dave got one in the garage but your pic does seem to be correct as the arrows go off the screen... so I'm not sure what you want measured

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

And on sunday I will try to have the freshly balanced flywheel stuff bolted on my 1100T. That means two different readings Davy! Export measurments!

Well, I was working to 53 to 56mm tolerance range - maybe I'll up it a little more to 52.5 - 56.0mm

Cheers,
TD
