I used to clean out two stroke exhausts the same way -the trick is not to let off on the compressed air until the inside has stopped burning or you will get blowback - and you dont want that !

if you want to clean carbon out of a manifold, or head etc then the best way ive found is to soak it in brake fluid over night. it really breaks up the carbon and makes it go all goey then pressure wash.

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.
