Not very sunny swanage

hi guys, i know a lot of you are running t2s, boith on mirage manifolds, and others. basically what i need to know, is where does your cold side point? it seems i have 2 choices. 1stly, leave it where it is (pointing towards the bulkhead) and make up a outlet pipe to bring it up the the top of the engine. or 2nd, move it to point up just past the exhaust manifold, and remount the actuator.

be very interested to hear what you lot have done.

also, what actuaotrs are you running, the standard one will leave me needing to cut a extra hole in the bulkhead ala turbo dave, and i would like to avoid this if possible. maybe a r5gtt actuator mounted the other side of the turbo?

Many thanks,

Pete

Pete,
My compressor housing outlet is now pointing straight up, just like the metro. The actuator is mounted right behind the turbo, with the rod almost touching the housing (with the main body of the actuator almost touching the compressor inlet. Doing this will probably just fit into the 'box'. Easy alternative is to buy a small actuator as per the R5GT's of course!

hello pete, as you know i've now go my mirage manifolds, i'm still just looking at how to mount stuff etc, fortunately i've got a T2 in bits so i'm just going to try and see how it all lines up.

when I spoke to rich at mirage he mentioned about relocating the actuator over to the exhaust side, basically involves alterating the internal wastegate lever by 180 deg, and sorting out a bracket to hold the actuator.

Which leads me on to the below....

also i'm going to look at fitting an external wastegate!! chirp chirp!

although i need to check availability of an exhaust housing with no internal wastegate, i'm sure there must be something out there.

you could weld the internal gate closed if you need to use an externat waste gate...
