hello all only my second time of measuring the CR in my engine.... just wanted to see if this sounded about normal.
I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I used 2.7 for the gasket 18cc for the bores, and 25 cc for the head on a 1275cc engine and got 7.98:1??? I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Asuming your 18cc is piston dish, ring land and deck height all measured together (which it will be if you did it with perspex over the top of the block), the maths is right (I got 7.96) but.... Three thoughts, a) having to fill the syringe 10 times to do a single measurement is hardly going to be accurate ![]() b) doing the combined dish/ringland/deck on the block requires you to get TDC very accurately in the first place or the reading will be too large ![]() c) some of the fluid (parafin?) can easily pass through the ring gaps while you are trying to get the measurement, esp. if you are spending a lot of time having to keep refilling the syringe, again, giving a reading too large ![]() Edited by Rod S on 19th Nov, 2008.
