PITA being 17 and wanting a non standard car *wink*

We have all been there *happy*

The trick is to have use of a company car, own two other cars, have at least 5 years driving experience, no motoring convictions, zero points on the licence and zero claims. *wink*

Age also helps:)

i bartered with them on the phone they wanted 1500 pounds, how can they justify that, its more then i paid for the car, but that was a bit of a jammy deal.

its when you list all the changed an modifications to your car and they say to you.

Are you jokeing.?

then you know its going to be expensive.

Its not the car they insure when you are 17, its you against a clain from some one else.

Even if you bought a car for £300, the insurance is more likely 3 times this amount, so there is no point asking for fully comprehensive

Insurance is the game to be in, everyone needs insurance by law, so you will never be out of a job*happy*

That’s true to some extent however for instance if i was to go for a mk1 1.2 Clio i could get insurance for 500 pounds, in fact i brought a 205 for a tenner and put it through its test and that cost me 700 odd pounds a year for insurance.

I just think its sick really as being a student that’s quite allot of money for us to fork out, however an 82 year old man can smash into my car because he made a mistake and has the reactions of a dead animal, his insurance I bet is less then 100 pounds for the year.

What more confuses me is that they will let me keep a 120BHP engine but wouldn’t let me keep the rear camber brackets or the twin tank.

However I did pay for protected no claims and fully comp as my dad is on the policy as a named driver.

But never mind, i can stomach the cost when i have the r1 in as that’s understandable.

Everyone has to fork out for car insurace when you first start out its a way of life!

If you having anything other than a standard shitter when you're young you're asking for a high premium so you shouldnt be suprised!

How do you agree a value so high? Does it mean that the car is actually worth £10k if you try to sell it? Surely they wouldnt give you £10k if someone wrote it off for you??

17 and paying £1000 a year insurance is the least of your worries, wait till you get old and pay £200 a year insurance, but £1000+ in council tax £5000+ in rent etc. I think you have the better deal lol.

1000 pounds is alot when your income is only 3500.

First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

Adrian Fux were great when I had to claim, I had a cheque within 2 weeks

Agreed values are based on what it would cost to build another, dont forget to include the price of another car though

Adrian Flux wanted £813 i told em to sit and swivel!

HIC gave me a qoute online at 249, i then phoned them to go through with it and she asked if there were any Mods, i told them i have declaired them online. It finally came out at £598 when i asked about the 1st qoute she said that was just to get me interested! I told her to do one!
