Just need a short length of 2 1/8" or 54mm OD, 2" ID exhaust pipe to join a large bore LCB to a 2" downpipe. Mild or stainless will do.

If nobody has any, I'll get a long length from Merlin and keep it stock for TM members.

When I needed to do this I went to my local rude boy monstrosity exhaust centre. They have some of those pipe stretching gadgets that work with a windy gun, and so they stretched a short length about 6" of 2"OD stainless to make it 2" ID to use as a connector. Cost me £5 I think.

My solution was similar - when I bought all the stainless tubing, the company also could expand it out, they called it end forming.... so I had all the excess lengths "end formed" to 2" ID and cut them off to make the sleeves.

Just been using them this afternoon, see my build thread !

As Tom says, a "good" exhaust place should have the expanding tool.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Fair point....

I just decided I would make my final system out of stainless, even where bits weren't "off the shelf", more for life than looks.

My "intermediate" system is still mild steel at the very front *frown**frown*

I think people are missing the point of that coupling. It will slacken off with two nuts and the linkpipe will slide out with no effort at all, no hammering now swinging on the silencer to breakit free *happy*

You've sold it to me.

It's the best solution I've seen so far.

I had to replace the rear section exhaust on the wifes car, Seat Arosa, it has one of these to join the front section to the rear. Granted after five years on the car I had to cut the bolts free, but once they were off, the rear section just slid out. I couldnt believe it after some of the pissing around I have done in tha past.

A couple of new bolts a little exhaust paste and its good as new.

I have one fitted to the manifold and linkpipe, as it was the easiest solution to the age old problem of fitting a 2" linkpipe to a "2 manifold

Is this that place that has an escort van with something rediculous like 12 exhausts poking out of the back?
