Clubman and round nose flipfronts are done in the same way, or are you looking for the best way to fit a flip front?

if its a 2 piece flip front (opening bonnet) the remainder of the inner wings might look unsightly if the bonnet is open as the tops are wider on 'real' clubmans but besides this aesthetic issue, fitment is basically the same for both shells...

How shit do you think it will look? It is only when you have the bonnet open after all and nobody have ever mentioned it to us.

What difference would inner wings make to the looks of it, not much imo.

If you want your engine bay to look really tidy you should have kept the steel front end!

The 'problem' I've got (or will have) with having no inner wings is road muck getting everywhere, especially with the air filter in the N/S wheelarch. Some appropriate shielding will do the trick.

Though to be fair I hope to be a fair weather driver, but you never can be sure eh?

But as people are saying, the attachment of the front end is principly the same for round noses and Clubmans, just a case of figuring out how to attach the hinges (if it does "flip" rather than "be removeable") and also how to attach it to your A Panels.

Me too..... somewhere - I thought on TM but I can't find it - I've seen a photo of where someone has used modern plastic wheel arch liners to seperate the engine bay from the wheels.

I wish I knew which car they were off so I could take a trip to the scrappy....

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

A panels are quite happy on their own without a wing to hold them on. However, you can get grp fronts with A panels included. I have to say that having fitted a flip front and a 2 piece front I much prefer the 2 piece. The flip I always found got in the way more than anything. It is only about 6 bolts to totally remove our front now and as it rarely gets taken off that is fine by me.

No, you're absolutely right. Inner wings wouldn't help! So much has changed on it since it was last on the road I was lost in my own world of "jobs that need doing in the wing area".

So yes, appropriate shielding is required, but you're dead right - the air filter needs extra protection regardless of having inner wings (or not)

Pottsy.

PS I'm sure there's a "Red Bull" joke to be used somewhere in there.
