hi people, decided to join the forum as i have just bought a metro turbo engine that i plan to fit in my 89 austin mini mayfair, been working on my car for the past 9 or so months and have still got along way to go, had a engine come up for £350 and seems to be in pretty good shape, just gotta collect the rest of the bits to fit it in, think my main concern is what fuel pump to go for and how to install, have heard alot of people have used the spi or mpi tank but could be wrong, would this be ok to use? and also how easy is it to install?

well im sure i will be posting lots more especially with the project i have on my hands lol

welcome to the forum

i use a mpi tank on mine.

It is a direct replacement for the existing one, and then it is just a case of running 2 8mm fuel lines 1 for feed and one for return (some people use a 8mm feed and a 10mm return) and then wiring up the fuel pump there are a lot of topics on this site about the mpi tanks

if your on a budget, normal tank, run the lines, get a metro turbo pump (also astra GTE pump, have a little search, Rod S put an ebay link up not too long ago) and then Tee the return into the low pressure side of the pump.

bargain!

i got my mpi tank for 30 quid and it was 1/2 full of fuel(little worrying that some old lady never got home because someone nicked her fuel tank)

James_H 's way was my first intention but then the tank came up so i went for it

and http://turbo-mini.com/62147.html is one of the best sites for information as James_H stated
