I have a mirage manifold using a t2 from a Renault 5 turbo i am using a oil feed that mirage supplied works a treat, however every time i have taken this off i have always had problems (more of a fiddle) getting it back on and tightening it up is this just me or is there a way or tool that makes this easier that i have over looked. i am doing it with the while turbo assembly on the car

Which end are you removing.

I always leave the turbo attached and take it off at the block.

The fittings are unf so you should be using AF spanners.

If its the usual 7/16 adaptor your having trouble with check the seat in the turbo body is clean as the fitting has the proper seat on it and seals against the bottom of the hole / base of fitting.

All the other fittings seal on a taper so make sure all faces are clean.

Hope this helps

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

there are also 2 different sizes of fitting on a T2 IIRC...

TD knows more than me as i'm sure it was him who mentioned it.

Oil feed threads

Fittings seal in a seat in the base of hole in the turbo body.

7/16" unf 24tpi (normal unf is 20tpi)
1/2" unf 24tpi (again normally 20tpi)

you could try stubby spanners or

or try making your own tool by heating and bending a spanner

on my turbo i have to rotate the housings to get a spanner on my oil feed banjo bolt.

and to throw an oddball in there my T2/T25/GT something or other is an M12 thread on the oil feed.
