Every year I have a sealed tin which I put my £1 & £2 coins in at the end of every day.

Started filling this one boxing day 2007 finished filling it up on Sunday.

Emptied it today £938!!!! GET IN THERE!

Last year i had the same size tin but only managed £366??? Must have had a lot more £2 coins ths year.

Looks like my mini project has gotten a decent cash injection for the new year! *happy**happy**happy*

That's fab, we've done it too but only with silvers.

I save my silvers and coppers too. But they are never as impressive amounts. Usually about £100-£200 in them. Empty them out a couple of times a year.

Had a look on www.force-racing.co.uk some very nice stuff on there but a little bit rich for me. *happy*

Nice!!

Thats a good idea, however my change always seems to take the form of pints instead of being kept somewhere to add up!

LOL

When I go out I try to spend change & coins instead of breaking notes all the time. But I still usually end up with a few quid in my pockets most days.

To be honest is was a sealed tin. Had to take a can opener to it to get in it.

Right it's that time again. My £1 and £2 jar is full again so have opened it and counted up. I know it's a bit of a crap winnie the pooh tin but it was the only one I could find last year.

The result is £620 which a bit down on last years total but this tin is quite a bit smaller than last years and were in a recession don't you know? *happy*

Don't think I'll be opening my new tin this time next year as its a lot bigger than this one. But it should be a bumper sum when I finally get it filled *smiley*

Now what do I spend it on this year? Paint I reckon.

i tried to get the missus to keep one of these for a holiday fund, the idea was stick any £5 notes in an old beer bottle where you couldnt get at them....

I found her with one of these in the top....

So that's why you've never got any change to buy the brews!

Remember you have to add in to the equation the money you spent on the new tin, making your saving slightly less.

Joking. LOL.

A tidy sum you have you self there.

I've not got one of those, instead I have a coin sorter thing, similar to this-

http://www.boysstuff.co.uk/images/prod_zoo...e_500_35236.jpg

I also do the same thing- try and lob my change in there. I then bag it in bank bags, and every now and then go and weigh it in. Last time it went towards my tool chest, the time before towards my TIG welder etc.
