Hi everyone,

Have noticed a lot of white smoking coming from the breather (rad side) which is piped to a small k&n style filter when I floor the throttle. This comes into the cockit but there is no strong smell with it. This only happens when I give the car full revs.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

no smell and white i would think was steam, i.e. head gasket.

just a thought.

Would it not be putting out this steam all the time then Iain? Its only when I really floor the throttle!

suppose it depends how badly its leaking?

not that sure, normally heaving breathing means knackered rings.

The car has only been driven about 50 miles in total since full engine rebuild. Worth taken the head off for inspection. Do you recommend those uprated head gaskets?

Have the engine out at the minute waiting on the recon gold seal gearbox arriving.

Thanks

just use a bk450. its what most people use for turbo's although with yours being a 1380 im not 100% sure if its the best for the job. think it is.

Id just give it some time to settle in first, probably find it will go away if its not that bad.
