What is everyone using in regards to grinders?

I just bought one of the multi-purpose grinders but the attachments are shite and don't last! *oh well*

I need to grind back somewelds in some confined spaces and can't get the angle grinder in there, any ideas whats best to use?

Cheers
Matt

at work we use a die grinder, but even that can be awkward in places because its nuematic so the air line gets annoying. and it tends to jump around abit too.

ive always wonderd what those finger files would be like with a decent sanding belt on them but i think the belt would just wear out faster than a 30yr old virgins first time.

I've been using a die grinder with a 50mm mandrel and sanding disc which gets into some tight spots but I know of some guys who use the 1" belt sanders

So is it possible to get some grind stones to fit a dremel style grinder that last?

Black and Decker powerfile is what you need. Great bit of kit.

Die grinder but with a carbide burr, not a stone.

Air or electric - the hose on the air one is a pain, but it is overall so much smaller than the electric one.

Carbide burrs can be got with very small shaft sizes so you could probably get the right size to fit a dremel as well.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

Where abouts are you grinding?
People may think its not right but can you hit whats obscuring you out of the way temporarily?

I dont see nothing wrong with a little bump and grind....

If you mean the long thing, with a rotating belt, almost like a sander....

Ive seen huys use these on-site when making/welding staircase hand rails etc, so they can grind down welds.
Obviously if the welds are huge they might struggle, but it seems to be the tool of choice for smoothing their welds.

I prefer air for removing large lumps of metal, and electric for the final stages.

you can get mini flap wheels for dremel type grinders, but im not sure how good they would be for cleaning welds,
