Hi guys. Came up in anoher thread a way to reduce the inlet track on the vemax supercharger style kit to use a bike carb. I though this was a intersting idea. I'm not to up on bike or there carbs. What would a good size be for a 1380 supercharged engine. I would say due to space a single Carb is the way. Thoughts? Had wondered about injection but the cost was to high for me.

clock tower with a sniper rifle

I had gone with a mikuni hsr, easy and fast to tune and gives good power…

I have fitted fireblade carbs to my mini and seen good power out of them. I was running a weber 45. The bikes carbs produce the same power as the weber at top end but 25% more power at low to med range rev. Both in bhp and torque on the rollers.
Sorry not on a supercharger but I would have thought that they would work well.

Do you need a balance pipe between the inlet tracks with them?

nice and neat very small units compared to the old SU.. I'm not sure what angle you need them at to keep the floats correct???

/there must be space to squeeze one in with an M45??

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Im sure they have to be at the angle in steve d's, so might cause clearance issues still, if used on a rootes type..
Often converted to blwo through on bikes though.. Hmm

The carbs do have to be on a angle so that the float chambers are level.

I used fireblade carbs got a bank of for £40 they have 38mm choke in them. The blackbird carbs are also good which have 41mm choke in them.

what size venturi would you want when using a bike carb? still aiming for the 40mm odd size? or would a set of mikuni 3he do the trick, dunno what the size on them.

i like the idea of the blackbird carbs. Just having a ebay sessson hunting some out.
Plan is i can run on a set NA this year and build up the supercharger intercooler and bike carbs with the other two to fit next winter... possibly or go injection..

Hmm will 2 bike carbs from a 600 or a 1000cc cope with a 1300 mini engine?
