ben and i are having a couple of alloy tanks made, and the we need to supply the fittings to the fabricator, weve sourced filler necks etc, and was going to buy some pipe today for the outlet/return, but were not sure what size to get?

what is the minimum ID required? bens car is running an r1 engine, so injection pump, mine will be going on my rally car, so will be feeding high power (hopefully) 1380 via a red top pump.

lots of tanks on ebay etc seem to have 8mm OD tubes, but the tube me and ben found on the web today had 1.5mm wall thinkness, so that only leaves a 5mm ID, will that be enough?

or can anyone point us to any 8mm thinwall stuff?

cheers

Whats the size on the pump your using?

I put a 12mm outlet on my tank as the pump had a 12mm inlet, thus it saved messing around stretching pipes and swearing
