Anyone off to the Autosport Show in January?

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if any of you are heading to the NEC for the Autosport in January? I've been once before a few years ago and it's great looking around at all the new concept cars and latest models (including the women! :), and the trade stands are well worth a look if you're on the hunt for parts. The Z cars team have a stand there aswell so there are a few minis there at least. Im trying to persuade joeybabey to come down aswell as he hasn't seen it before.

I'll be there on the Thursday and Saturday I think, You'll find me on the Richard Egger Insurance Stand with the HSA. Come and say hello.

Yeah it is good for scoping out the hotties, I can recommend the Ford stand, first class camels toe down that way! :0 hehe.

What did you guys think of the Z cars minis at the show? A guy on the Isle of Man had one and it was being looked at by a local mechanic who I rate very highly. He said the build quality wasn't great at all...the brake pads had worn on an angle because the mounting lugs for the calipers weren't even straight! It put me off spending so much on a Z cars kit when I can build my own FWD mini for less than half.

Joe I totally forgot you were with me 4 years ago, i'll see what days we are heading up and let you know, we'll just be getting a hire car to rinse on the way down.

I'll call by your stand at the show and say hello, we have the 'Duke Video' stand there each year so i'll be down there most of the time.

Hoping to get this year not sure which day. should have really applied for next years MSA licence so could of gone on the quieter day.

I'll be on the same stand as Wil promoting the HSA.

It is great to look at the amazing motorts up close and buying a few bits and bobs..

Do any you guys know what i can do, i only want to go on trade day, i have a MSA licence which intitles me to entry on trade day but its only with valid licence and i havent renewed yet, im sure it wont arrive back by the show date in time so my current 2008 licence wont be valid...sucks really unless i do as i did last year...which was sneeky sneek stuff

Was talkin to somone who put his car with Z cars and pulled it out as they seem to say one price and then adjust as they go? a bit like BMW you want this car sir want a CD player thats extra, or you would like wheels oh thats extra! so not sure about there cred, as if you quote a price stand by it n dont mess people about.
Would be interested in the show though

My current 2008 license will not be valid either although my renewal has just gone off (still in postbox as I post).

They were happy to take my 24 quid off me online.

Me and joeybaby83 are all booked up now for the saturday and sunday at the show so hopefully see some of you guys there. We'll be based at the Duke Video stand for some of the time and also checking out the minis at the Z cars stand.

im going with my bro on the sunday. think its worth getting paddock tickets? or is that a sales gimmick. i want to get some close up action shots you see, well as close as i can get.

I wouldn't bother with paddick passes, I did that last year and you only get to go backstage and see the cars parked up before they go into the arena. You cant get very close to them at all back stage, its all fenced off.

I'll prob be going on the sat, as it's the piston head show as well.
