When you buy the diff you also need to buy the output shafts, these link the shaft to your chosen joint, pot or hardy. Unfortunately you will have to buy a new crown wheel and pinion as they don't fit.

I will be up for a group buy as well as im thinking of getting one. I think on the later style of diff you dont need to get output shafts to fit the pot joint as they are built into the diff??

they are the same as the ones we did a group buy for last year.

any other lsd will need the crown wheel machined, normally the highest ratio you can do this to is 3.44, somone on here machined out a 3.1 IIRC but i belive it broke after a bit.

what do most people run because some one said to me that 2.9 is crap but i prefer it purely because i dont wana be reving the ass off it on the motorways n a roads...lol

it eats the gearing anyway lol

hammered it down the a3 got to about 110 before the head gasket came out the side of the block haha

on turbo's the 3.1 is common, the 2.9 is a good choice if you go on the motorway a fair bit.

the 2.9 is pretty crap in a n/a but with the extra torque from the turbo its much better.

3.44 is about as low as you want to go for a road car.

yup, the group buy is from swiftune and i will do it jan/feb at a guess.

you can use normal crownwheels and it is set up to do pot joints so a bargain really.

£80 isnt a bad saving! ?BUT i havent had a price off them yet, that was last summers price but hopefully it was something like. worked out 15% off i think then obviously had them to post out afterwards so that was about £10

If you are using it on the road moastly, then you don't want a plate diff anyway. even the one with the least locking will be too much IMO. Also plate diffs wear. ATBs are far better for road use.

Hi Mini 13,

I did the 3,1 FD for the Quaife LSD - it is still ok, a lot better than the soft laygears that don't survive my motors too long.....
