bought an audi a4 avant today

I rang this guy yesterday asked some questions about the car it sounded good with below average milage clean interior and exterior its a diesel fsh ect ect ect i said i would think about it as its older than i wanted and it was 80 miles from home so a bit of a trek, anyway he rings me back 5 mins later saying its the best around then 5 mins after than repeating himself, initially i was put off but after speaking to lisa about it she said there was no harm in looking at the car as it may be a goodun even if the guys sellings a twat and i can always walk and ive lost nothing but a bit of time and diesel money

had a look at it today and the interior is like new it drove fantastic and was far far better than expected, two problems i found were water drip marks in the passenger footwell and its due a service, water issue was found to be that he had jet washed the engine bay just before i got there and filled the battery compartment to the top with water obviously the drainage holes could not cope so water seeped though the grommets, i made what i feel is a reasonable offer at £1100 considering the 105k milage the service needed and the small exterior marks and the serious water leak so we did the deal his wifey counted the cash i loaded up my truck and fucked off home way later than expected

get home and charge up my battery only to find a really shitty message on my voice mail calling me names saying ive stitched him up ect ect ect all because i was ..... wait for it £20 short on the cash, now i had 2x £500 envelopes that the bank teller counted, i counted twice, my friend paul counted on the way up and i gave £100 out of the stash i kept back, on top of this he gave the money to his wife who we know counted it as it all came back in one envelope

was in a campsite minisupermarket in croatia a few years ago, trying to feed 3 of us on about 10 kuna, and at the till the cashier dropped my bottle of red which bounced off the till, and smashed on the floor,

one of the minions appeared with another bottle, i handed over the 10 kuna and went to pick the shopping up, they started going off on one asking for another 2 kuna or so pointing at the smashed bottle of wine trying to make out liek i was trying to rob them

i didnt have the extra money on me, and they wouldnt let me have the other bottle of red that i had paid for

the way i saw it if i was being forced to pay for a smashed bottle of wine, i was going to fucking smash one, so promptly grabbed the bottle of plonk of the women and threw it on the floor and walked out

i dont know why ive just told that story, i think your predicament reminded me of it somehow, but the fact is, smashing that bottle of plonk made me feel a hell of alot better

theres a bit of trim missing from the drivers door and the heater controls dont light up but these are small issues considering its condition and service history

Looks tidy, those strips are commonly missing, I replaced them on my A4 when I first got it, they are not that dear, I think I paid something like £70 for all 4 plus all the proper clips from the Audi dealer.

PS, have you looked at the front suspension yet, you'll get a shock when you do, bloody susp arms everywhere! Mine is even worse as being a Quattro the back end is even more scary!

i bought the trim Tom £20.03 got home and found no trim clips with it Doh!

just make sure the belts and tensioner have been changed at some point.

Hum, if someone paid me over a grand in cash I'd probably count it there and then, actually thinking about it the last couple of cars I've brought I've insisted the seller counts the cash there and then so there can't be any confusion.

Anyway everyone knows Audi drivers are cocks.

just listened to the message again, he says he wont send log book until i send the cash, surely this is blackmail? might pop back up and have a chat face to face

no mate, if you have that message saved, keep it, call the police and let them sort it, its what theyre there for.

if you have a witness that they counted the money there and then, then its an open and shut case.

it is the responsibility of the owner to notify of changes to the DVLA - if he won't tell them, then make sure you pick up a few tickets for him!

did he give you a receipt? Quite frankly, as soon as he let you go with the car, he accepted the money you gave him as the deal, whether it was correct or not.

if he aint posting the logbook, then have some fun!!!!!

If he's signed a receipt for the deal. You O him nothing.

Because of the fact he has accept the deal and given a receipt for the transaction.

Job done...!
